Jesus invites us to lay down the crushing weight of self-sufficiency, fear, and striving for perfection, and instead partner with him and walk in the freedom of being fully loved as His adopted children.

By: Lori Wilhite, Pastor — Joy, gladness, rejoicing, and happiness are meant to be experienced. The problem isn’t that God doesn’t want us to be happy. The problem is that we’re chasing happy in the wrong things, looking for it in all the wrong places.

Every time you face a mess, remind yourself of this logic: God has already given His best in Jesus. He won’t stop providing now. Even in loss, in struggle, in uncertainty, He remains faithful.

By: Jack Kale, Central Pensacola Beach — It’s taken years for me to understand what my dad meant when he said, “Wherever you go, there you are.” As a kid, it seemed like nonsense. Now, I’ve come to recognize the truth that our problems, personalities, junk, and history follow us wherever we go. We can’t really start over unless we change what’s inside us, no matter where we find ourselves on the outside. Wherever you go, there you are.

It means learning to love others sacrificially. It means surrendering your will to Him. We transition from fan to follower by giving up to grow up. And when we choose to follow Jesus, the journey doesn’t stop there. We become disciples and then disciple-makers.

By: Jack Kale, Pastor Central Pensacola Beach — It’s usually a sign that something’s wrong when we notice a leak. I read about an art exhibit at the Guggenheim where a robotic machine was leaking hydraulic fluid, but the machine was built to scoop up leaking hydraulic fluid, representing a sad, perpetual cycle of mortality. It was titled “Can’t Help Myself.” 

By: Jack Kale, Pastor Central Pensacola Beach — I wouldn’t have seen it if I hadn’t looked up. He was there, soaring the February blue Florida skies, but unless you took a second to avert your gaze from ground level, you would miss it. Sometimes, we need to look up to catch a glimpse of greatness.
